The best part is that we didn’t even use half of the paint, primer, and patina solution, so we can still do another project or two. We let it dry overnight and when we came back the next morning it looked like this. Once you spray the patina aging solution, the paint begins to turn dark blue within a few minutes, but you have to let it dry to get the full effect. Here’s what the pot looked like after primer and paint. There was an instruction booklet in the box, but the directions are pretty simple: two coats of primer, two coats of bronze paint, then spritz with the patina aging solution while the paint is still wet. We decided to transform a decorative pot we found at the thrift store. They have three finishes, blue patina, green patina, or rust, and we chose to work with blue patina. Our Modern Masters Metal Effects kit came with everything needed to complete our project, including the brushes. Apply the first coat and let it dry completely. Shake the paint container really well because the paint contains metal flakes which tend to sink to bottom. ![]() This paint comes in copper, bronze, and iron.
